General description
Blepharoplasty corrects excess skin or fat in the upper and lower eyelids, whether for cosmetic reasons or because excess skin is obstructing the visual field. It is an oculoplastic procedure aimed at a natural result, in harmony with the rest of the face and, when applicable, with genuine functional benefit.
Here's the process at Vision Clinic
- Swelling and bruising around the eyes are expected during the first 2 weeks; cold compresses and sleeping with your head elevated help.
- Antibiotic drops and ointment are prescribed to prevent infection, along with lubricant.
- Stitches are removed in-office 7 days after surgery.
- As the weeks go by the scars fade, and by around week 4 the expected cosmetic result starts to show.
