ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens)

Implantable intraocular lens for high prescriptions, preserving the natural lens.

General description

The ICL is a phakic intraocular lens implanted inside the eye without removing the natural lens — an ideal alternative for patients with high myopia or astigmatism, or corneas that are not candidates for laser surgery. It offers excellent optical quality and is a reversible procedure, since the lens can be removed or replaced if needed.

Here's the process at Vision Clinic

1
Consultation and candidacy evaluation. Corneal topography and tomography to confirm you're a safe candidate for the ICL lens.
2
Complete eye exam. Includes pupil dilation to thoroughly check your eye's overall health.
3
I explain your case, in person. Dr. Ned Davila personally explains the surgical process, benefits, risks, the type of ICL indicated for you, and every detail of the procedure.
4
Written quote and instructions. You get everything in writing: costs and pre-surgery instructions, with no surprises.
5
We order your EVO ICL® lens from Switzerland. Your lens is custom-made for your eye; the process can take 2 to 6 weeks, depending on your refraction and the specifics of your case.
6
We schedule your surgery date. As soon as your lens arrives at the clinic, we schedule your procedure day.
7
Surgery day. Outpatient, using only anesthetic eye drops, taking 10 to 15 minutes per eye.
8
No-cost post-surgical kit. Antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and lubricating drops from the moment you leave the clinic.
9
One month of follow-up visits at no cost. Always with the same surgeon who performed your surgery.
